TOWARDS A GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE
AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
BACKGROUND
International sourcing and global production have
intensified the level of competition in the automotive sector. Companies all
over the globe are competing head-to-head for the same investment, production
and customers. The globalization of manufacturing facilities has meant that
products are no longer produced in just one country.A diverse workforce produces these parts in
different countries. Work performance standards are critical for ensuring the
quality delivery of products and services during a state of flux. The quality
of the work force is essential. With these in mind the automotive industry in
the Philippines created the Center for Automotive Technology Corp. (CATC). The
Center was registered with the SEC on July 28, 2005. The incorporators and
stockholders are the heads of automotive industry associations and company
presidents or CEOs.
VISION & MISSION
The country and the company’s greatest asset are
its human resources. The Philippine automotive workers will be the highest
skilled in the region to make the automotive industry competitive in the global
market.
CORPORATE OBJECTIVES
CATC aims to develop and implement programs to
enhance the competitiveness of companies in the automotive industry. It intends
to develop manpower skills through training, testing and skills certification. It
serves as a venue for automotive technology development especially for small
and medium scale enterprises
